2004 GMC safari: The electronic display..rear view..30 degrees..adjust

I have 2004 GMC safari. The electronic display above the rear view mirrow now displays a temperature about 30 degrees above actual temperature. How can I adjust it. Thanks, J

Hello, you need to test the temperature sensor for resistance. Below is a table of the resistance values for it. It is either a bad resistor or a bad display assembly. More problems with the sensors going bad than anything else. Instructions for replacing it are below the chart. If you need anything else drop me a note. Thanks

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the radiator grille from the vehicle. Object Number: 298186  Size: SH

  2. Remove the outside air temperature sensor from the center support bracket by sliding the sensor upward.
  3. Disconnect the temperature sensor electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 298186  Size: SH

  1. Connect the temperature sensor electrical connector.
  2. Install the temperature sensor by sliding the sensor downward.
  3. Install the radiator grille to the vehicle.
