How do you remove the factory radio in a 1996 Chevy Lumina APV

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the steering column opening filler panel.

  1. Remove the right side sound insulator panel.

  2. Remove the accessory trim panel.

  3. Loosen the two nuts at the bottom of the radio.

  1. Remove the two screws attaching the radio bracket to the instrument panel lower trim pad assembly.

  2. Slide the radio assembly out from the accessory housing.

  3. Disconnect the antenna lead-in cable from the radio.

  4. Disconnect the instrument panel electrical harness connectors from the radio and remove the radio assembly.

To install:

  1. Connect the instrument panel electrical harness connectors and the antenna lead-in cable to the radio.

  2. Slide the radio assembly into the accessory housing.

  3. Install the two screws attaching the radio bracket to the instrument panel lower trim pad assembly.

  4. Tighten the two nuts at the bottom of the radio.

  5. Install the accessory trim panel.

  6. Install the right side sound insulator panel.

  7. Install the steering column opening filler panel.

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
