Where is the blower motor resistor located on a 1999 Chevy Suburban 1/2 ton?
Optional Information: 1999 Chevrolet Suburban 5700 VortecAlready Tried: Bought blower motor resistor but can't find location to replace.
On top of the HVAC plenum:
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Roll the instrument panel back. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. Remove the plenum tray. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the screws. Remove the resistor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE : Do not allow the resistor coils to touch. Improper operation or damage to the vehicle may result.
Install the resistor. Ensure that you install the new resistor so that the part number is XXXXX on the forward side of the blower motor assembly. NOTE : Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. Install the screws. Tighten Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in) . Connect the electrical connector. Install the plenum tray. Roll the instrument panel forward. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. Connect the negative battery cable. Verify the circuit operation.
