You may just have a faulty Fuel Pump Relay, under the hood in the illustration below. It's a common failure and typically is replaced with the pump...I would replace it and see if the problem still exists. If so, we'll need to test the entire fuel pump circuit, it may be that the relay is not getting the correct voltage or the trigger from the engine controller.
