If you have a change in RPM when it jerks it means it's going in and out of torque converter lock up or overdrive. If the RPMs do not change it likely means the engine has a miss which you only feel when the trans is in overdrive and torque converter lock up. You don't want to bring an engine miss to a trans shop and you don't want to chase down a miss if the trans is failing.
