My 2000 KIA Sportage is running high RPMS in park. What could be the problem?

OK.Likley cause is a vaccum leak somewhere. The ecm is trying to add enough fuel to compensate for unmetered air. This causes higher then normal rpms. You can take carb cleaner and spray it around the intake manifold and vaccum lines,if the rpms change then you will be in the correct area of the leak.Hope this helps! Thanks
