how do I retract the rear caliper piston on my 2004 pontiac grand prix to replace the brakes

If the parking brake is made into the brake caliper then you have to twist(clockwise) the piston and push in at the same time. If it is not then you just push it straight in. When twisting the piston you want to first loosen the dust boot from the piston or it will twist up on the piston and tear. Also it is a good idea to open the bleeder screw while pushing in the piston so it lets out the old brake fluid and does not push it back into the ABS control module. They make a special tool for twisting the piston back in but it can be done without it.
