2006 Honda Civic LX: Sedan..factory radio..the wire color codes

This answer was rated:

I bought a RCA adapter the only thing is that I am not sure how to wire it. I have a 2006 Honda Civic LX Sedan with a factory radio. I don't know the wire color codes for my radio. Is there anyway you can give me a link or a diagram of the wiring code? I know I need a Left +/- & Right +/- but I cannot figure witch color wires to hook into and there is no diagram on the radio itself.

Your RCA Adapter should have Instructions On it or With it.
Usually it needs to be spliced into the Positive & Negative of the Speaker wires of the Front or Rear wires.

12v Constant =white
Ground =black
Ignition =purple
Illumination =gray or red/black
Factory Amp Turn-on =lt. blue
Power Antenna =gray
LF Speaker =lt. green +
LF Speaker =pink -
On vehicles with the amplifier, the LF tweeter wires are red (+) - green (-).
RF Speaker = gray
RF Speaker =brown
Notes: On vehicles with the amplifier, the RF tweeter wires are pink (+) - blue (-).
LR Speaker =yellow +
LR Speaker =brown -
RR Speaker =blue + -
RR Speaker =orange -
Notes: On vehicles with the amplifier, the subwoofer wires are green (+) - red (-).

Reply to Lurch's Post: yeah the instruction that came with the adapter say I need to splice into a Right +/- and Left +/- Speaker. but there are no diagrams showing the color code. Is this the color code for a honda civic or are the wire colors universal?

If you are putting in an AMP, I would use the Rear Wires. You can get them at the Speaker Harness of the Rear Speakers or Behind Radio:

LR Speaker =yellow +
LR Speaker =brown -
RR Speaker =blue +
RR Speaker =orange -

Reply to Lurch's Post: So these are universal colors for speaker wires?
NO....these are the Honda Civic colors coming from the Radio.
You would splice your RCA Adapter into them
