2001 chevy: a 6.0 litre and engine light came..Knock..Senser

Resolved Question:

I have a 2001 chevy 2500HD with a 6.0 litre and engine light came on and had it checked it say's "Knock Senser 2 Cicuit Low Input (Bank 2). What is that ?

It basically means the knock sensor on bank two isn't working.Do you need info on how to change it?

Yes, and also the engine knocks is that from the same problem. Thanks for your time.

Yes you could experience knocking from that.Here is how to change the sensor.i would replace both when I was in there because it's a bit of a job.If you need more help following this please ask.If not please click on my accept button.

Knock Sensor (KS) Replacement


Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Remove the KS wiring harness assembly.

  3. Remove the KS.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.


  1. Install the KS.

    Tighten
    Torque the sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
