I have a 2001 Audi A4 with 35,000 miles. The check engine light just came on the other day and I'm not sure:
It just had a major service (The 50,000 mile service since it was 4 years old) in early January and I've only driven the car about 3,000 miles since then. Had the oil and filter changed then as part of that.
Is there a quick and easy way to fix this (most likely), or do I need to take it in to have it looked at?
Got it... and, how urgent is it do you think???
As an fyi, in California they aren't allowed to check the codes for you... they make you pay a deposit to borrow their code reader... you have to check the codes yourself, then you return the reader and they give you your deposit back. (It was about $180 deposit) They tell you what the codes mean for free.
Just an fyi for future customers in California!
