'70 chevy 350 cid ! number 8 cly. will not fire new rebuilt engine ! changed plug, wire, adjusted valves, new distributor cap,rotor,points and condenser,, New carb, new vaccum advance ,changed plugs from one cly to other ! WILL NOT FIRE ! COMPRESSION EQUAL TO OTHER CLYS!   HELP !!!!!!

NO, This is an engine that i rebuilt ! It came out of a 70 chevy caprice ! wrecked! The engine is a 350 cid with 300 h.p. (4 bolt mains)

Reply to carrdoc's Post: Yes,, a complete rebuild ! It ran well for the first 500 miles and then it began missing on that number 8 cylinder.... I adjusted the valves and timing !!

 I'm confused half way thru this post this engine miraculously went from no fire to fowling No.8 plug. WHAT HAPPENED MUST BE THAT!)) OCT. FUEL HUH  .  Dosn't that high test make it ping alot?
