I have a Dnx6190 kenwood in my truck now for approx. 5

Customer Question

I have a Dnx6190 kenwood in my truck now for approx. 5 years. Love it! Recently it kind of cleared itself of all radio pre sets and nav info. I rep entered my radio channels no problem. But the navigation will not save any routs nor will it take a quicker route? When I look at saved routes it say zero saved.? .? Thanks Darren.***@******.***

Hi Darren, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially and for test purposes, determine if there is always available +12V on the yellow wire at the rear of the Kenwood. This serves as the backup power for the memory retention of the DNX6190.

Presence of this constant +12V would be indicative of a likely internal hardware issue.

It does have constant 12 volts. Also when I type in a route, tap the "save route" when I get in my driveway and no routes on file.

I am almost inclined to an internal hardware issue.

Still, let's consider/try an update. First, the firmware and then map.

Please click HERE and select your Kenwood model. Follow onscreen instructions.

I can't do it until tomorrow evening. (Not at home with truck) I will click on the model and try the update and follow up with you.

I understand.

And would look forward to an update tomorrow or when able.
