In my 2009 Ford E450 Motor home I am swapping in the Kenwood

Customer Question

In my 2009 Ford E450 Motor home I am swapping in the Kenwood DPX791BH to replace the OEM Jensen. The old one is out, I plugged the main harness into the same socket on the Kenwood and the antenna and XM Sirius wire.
Long story short, no power up when pressing SRC, no display. The fuse is good and when I press the EJECT button I can hear the mechanism working. I have pressed the reset button with a paper clip, no improvement.
I notice that the red and yellow wires into the plug have been spliced separate from the other wires of the plug, but connections are good, the old radio works fine and still does after swapping out the KENWOOD.
What will make the new radio light up??? Thanks

Do you have power on both the yellow and red wires going into Kenwood?
Expert:  Thomas Tullo replied 7 months ago.
The wiring on the Jenson and the Kenwood are different you should of had to cut end off and splice the new one in

Look at the plug that goes into radio and compare colors and location
