Customer Question

I am having trouble with the reception on the AM side of my AVH-X4700BS. There is a lot of background noise like I am to far from the station. When I hit a series of bumps I also get this background sounds. The FM side of the radio works perfect so it is not the antenna. Can you help.

Hi, I'm not surprised BB didn't know what to do they aren't really electronic techs.

The two bands, FM and AM have really nothing to do with one another.

Infact they use different antennas as well.

Are you using an external AM antenna?

Where is it placed if so?

But I also need to know if you have a whine or some other static sound that is always present even if your tuned to a station?

Also how old is your receiver?

If you would like a phone call on this, send me an offer if your in the US and I will call you at your convenience.
