I installed a kenwood into my chevy truck and its a KDC-BT648U. once it wa installed, the audible ding that happens when i open m door got very very loud and its been this way for over a year now. how do i fix this??

Please post YEAR & MODEL of the Chevrolet ?Did you use a Wiring Adapter?If so, Brand & Model Number??

best buy installed it, i tried to call them but tey were no help.so im not sure if they installed one or not.
the beeping happens when i open my door and the key is in the ignition.

Thank you for the added info.................2004 "typically" needs a Wiring Adapter to maintain the Door Chime thru the Speaker, as the Factory Radio is a Class 2 DATA Type Radio & the Wiring Adapter takes it's place.That said, it is going to depend on "IF" the Wiring Adapter used has the "Volume" Adjustment on itYou can remove the Front Dash Panel (pretty easy), to inspect the Wiring Adapter for the Volume Control (small screw driver to turn) or wait to call Best Buy for them to tell you.Since the signal is coming from the BCM, I would not like to see any Factory wires cutIf the older Wiring Adater is used, you could install the New Type (apprx $35.00), that has the Volume Control
