How do I get my pioneer Avic f900bt to save the radio settings? I preset all of my radio stations, and tune the sound to sound like I would like it, then when I shut the car off, it erases everything? Please help!

Thanks for stopping by:

The installation of the radio is incorrect.

There are 2 wires that get power from your vehicle - A CONSTANT power... which is used to retain all those settings and presets.... and an IGNITION wire.. which is used to indicate to the radio that the car is on.

Your radio is probably wired so that the CONSTANT (yellow) wire loses power when the ignition shuts off - and erases all preset/stored information.

Remove the radio and ensure the yellow radio sees 12VDC regardless of the key's position.

The RED wire should only get power when the key is in the RUN position.

If you reply - please include the year/make/model of the vehicle, so I can give you the wiring codes.

Let me know if you require additional

Thanks!!

Do you know what color wire the yellow power should connect to on a 2001 hyundai elantra gt?

The yellow wire is the constant wire - and should be connected to the RED wire in the vehicle - in position #8 of the plug:

The Accessory wire (red) should be connected to the YELLOW wire in pin #1.

It's just coincidence they are opposite colors.

Enjoy.
