Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially (and partly as a double check), additional information please on the Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD:
  • • are the speakers directly connected to the Pioneer or is there an add-on amplifier;
  • • if with an add-on amplifier, is the blue/white wire from the original Pioneer plug connected to this amp;
  • • is the yellow/black wire from the original Pioneer plug disconnected and taped/covered.

Other than the MUTE, there are no other features/functions that would completely disable the sound output. Even ATT -20dB would only reduce the sound but there would still be something audible.

If all wirings / external factors / settings have been ruled out, then it would only point to an internal hardware issue.

Are you then considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair approach? Are you familiar with electronic components, have access to / comfortable in the use of a multimeter and perhaps even a soldering iron/hot-air station?

Please post back how you would want to approach this and/or should you need additional information.
