I have a Kenwood, Excelon, KVT 696, about 2 years old. The SiriusXM activation will not stick. Everytime I power off, (turn key off or switch it off), I lose the SiriusXM activation. Sirius XM insists that it is hardware problem, my Kenwood dealer knows that it is a SiriusXM problem. When I use the reset button on the front of the unit, it does not help or change anything. Thanks, XXXXX XXX@XXXXXX.XXX
Already Tried: Using reset button on front of unit. Called Sirius XM technical support, (hardware problem) and local Kenwood dealer says it is an Sirius XM activation code issue. Thanks, Michael

sorry....that tells me that the Sirius Module / Tuner is losing "memory" which causes you to reenter Activation againThe Kenwood or the Sirius Module / Tuner has a problem, not Sirius (the company)
The DIN Plug or Unit needs to be tested for 12 Volts ConstantBest to check both Units on the bench

Mr. MoLurch,So from what you are telling me is that the Sirius Tuner module or the radio has to have 12Volt power constantly to keep the Sirius XM Activation? Is this correct? When I turn the key off or switch from House to Engine Power (This is installed in an RV), this removes power from the Kenwood Excelon Unit. Does the Sirius Tuner have to have 12 V power constantly to keep the activation?I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your response.

thanks for the "new" added info........
yes........the Kenwood needs to have "memory" retained, 12 Volts + Constant. This is done thru the YELLOW wire of the Kenwood Unit, which also supplies 12 volts + Constant thru a wire in the DIN Plug that goes to the Sirius Tuner Box
Igf Clock & PB on the Kenwood Unit do not have to be reset each time the Key is turned on, then it can be an Internal problem of the Kenwood Unit or the Sirius Tuner BoxTesting needs to be done on both units together
