in my 2006 bmw, when i start my car the radio plays for a few seconds then cuts out. power light still on but cannot change mode for even playing cd's . the cd will eject and the navigation unit is functional. What could be wrong?
Already Tried: called bmw service and they have no clue except to change the harmon kardan radio,

There is something you can try. Do a global reset on the system this will be like rebooting the computer. Disconnect both the negative and positive battery cables for 5 minutes before reconnecting the battery cables make sure they are both off touch them together for 15-30 seconds this will ensure the residual gets discharged. Than reconnect the cables

If the problem is still there yu will most likely need to replace the deck because of a internal short on the circuit board
they just changed my battery
Changing the battery is not the same thing

This might do the trick than.. I would try it because if the module is getting inaccurate values this will reset it
They should be willing to fix this at no cost. Make sure they know it was perfect before they changed the battery
