2006 chevy cobalt lsJust installed a freeway DMR-1300 stereo to replace the stock one. The display will turn on but very faintly. when i wired the stereo i wired the red accessory wire into the constant battery wire as i don't really want to be splicing into stock wiring in the fuse box.My question is why will the display not fully come on? will not play music as well
Optional Information: Type of Electronic: Stereo System
both the red and yellow (battery constant) wires need to go to 12 volts. check the ground wire also.you may have it to the wrong wire. try putting it to metal under the dash. if you have a voltmeter you can see if you have the proper voltage.put the negative (black)meter wire to the stereo metal chassis. then the positive (red) meter wire to both the stereos accessory and constant wire. if you have 12 volts to both and the diplay is still not working the stereo is defective.
are you there?
Turns out the harness I bought had a couple pins in the wrong place, I figured out which wires went where and it works
