Customer Question

I am installing a Prestige APS-620N remote start system on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD 5.9 Gas automatic truck. The directions say to attach the green w/orange trace wire to the negative side of the coil. Wiring diagrams show this to be a black/gray wire at the coil connector. There are only two wires at the coil.
I double checked this connection but the remote start does not receive a tach signal.
Also, the truck has power door locks but no keyless entry, and I would like to know if I need something extra to have the remote operate the door locks, also. Thank you

Optional Information:
Make: Dodge
Model: Ram 1500 2WD

Already Tried:
Verified the connections for the remote start wiring diagram several times.

If you are needing for TACH:

I show it as GRAY / Light BLUE wire at the PCM

Powertrain Control Module Located On Passenger Rear Of Engine On Firewall

Keyless Entry:

If your R/S does not have "onboard" Relays for Lock & Unlock, you will need 2 SPDT Relays (single pole double throw)

Lock = ORANGE/VIOLET wire
Unlock = PINK/VIOLET wire
At Black 8 PIN CONNECTOR IN DRIVER KICK PANEL

You will need to determine which coonectios to make to Relays:

Without OEM Keyless = Reversal Rest At Ground Door Locks .
With OEM Keyless Entry = Positive Pulse Door Locks .

if you need further, let me know
