My late mother was a resident of Hong Kong. She was not a Canadian national. She passed away leaving a current account in a bank in Vancouver with a balance of CA$19,000 in the account. As the executor of her will, I will need to close it and distribute the money to the beneficiaries stated in her will. Do I need a Canadian lawyer to assist my Hong Kong lawyer to do this?
