A combination of 2 things 1 - my wife was just told her job

Customer Question

hi there
JA: Hello. What is your issue regarding?
Customer: a combination of 2 things 1 - my wife was just told her job was no longer waiting for her - less then a month before she was scheduled to return from mat leave and that her mat leave replacement was hired full time last week
JA: Because employment law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: it is in BC, Canada
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: yes we filed a complaint yesterday
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: yes I think that this is also a case of discrimination we were invited to the xmas party which was very nice and the manager walked around the tables to look at who wasnt drinking to see who might be pregnant. While she laughed it off we are now forced to wonder if my wifes mat leave replacement was chosen over my wife due to her age and possibly the manager thinking Ashley was pregnant because she is not much a of a drinker
