I need some info. About renting a unit in a seniors building

Customer Question

I need some info. About renting a unit in a seniors building in Oshawa Ontario.
JA: Because laws vary from place to place, can you tell me what state the property is in?
Customer: Oshawa, Ontario
JA: Has any paperwork been filed?
Customer: Not yet
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just that we have prepaid 2 months rent to hold the unit and work was promised to be done and it has not been done.

I am sorry to hear this.

Are you saying you paid first and last month's rent and the unit is now not ready?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
We agreed to rent a seniors apt. After they promised to change the carpet in the bedroom and some minor cleaning. AFTER 5 weeks the carpet has not been changed or cleaned and now there is a plumbing issue, we have no water in the toilet in the bathroom. We were planning to move in originally on November 2, than delayed it until Nov. 12, and still there has been nothing done except they have cashed the 2 rent cheques.
