Customer Question

Mother, lived in Windsor Ont, passed away in April. One of three brothers was named executor. Concern is arising that the estate is being handled properly. There are discrepancies in some of the bank statements and the executor is asking for a significant fee. The other brothers have asked for an accounting of the estate, bills, etc and cannot get a consistent response. Most funds are in Scotia Bank, who will not discuss with anyone but executor, even TFSA which has named beneficiaries. So, questions is, what do we, the named beneficiaries, have to do to obtain a certified accounting of estate?

I am sorry for your loss.

Do you mean your mother just died this past April?

And the executor is already asking for fees?

Is the banking refusing to give out the funds from the TFSA?
