HelloThere are two levels of Parole Boards in Ontario - the provincial and Federal. The length of an inmate's sentence will trigger which parole board may ultimately review the inmate's case to assess suitability for release. For all sentences 2 years less a day (and under), individuals are sentenced to provincial prisons. By contrast, all offenders sentenced to 2 years or greater are sentenced to federal penitentiaries. To answer your specific question, decisions made by parole boards are now public records (as of Nov 1, 1992). For more information on the Parole Board of Canada's policy on requesting parole decisions, please review the following link: can also get a copy of a form to request a specific parole decision.
