My wife told the HPO that we had red a contractor to build

Customer Question

My wife told the HPO that we had hired a contractor to build our house contrary to our owner builder agreement, even though that was not the case and I was I in charge of the project. We had indicated that we had hired a contractor to assist when we had filed for the owner builder permit. She just didn't understand the situation. I am concerned that we are going to be fined and possibly jailed. How should I proceed? Should I just talk to the HPO myself?

You won't be jailed. You could be fined.

I suggest that you either hire a contractor now or else seek to amend the information you put into the HPO and explain you are doing this on your own.
