Hi I bought a car not running for a fix up project. I have the registration signed and dated, befor he died. Now my friend has passed away owing revenue Canada 20,000$. The car is in a shop down close to wear he lived, he never canciled the registration yet after signing it over to me. Know his mother says I should not take the car yet as it is part of the estate. My question is do I just loss out?

It is not part of the estate because you bought the car before he died, so the estate is required to uphold any contracts, written or verbal, that he entered into before he died. So the car is yours.
