If my husband has been sued, failed to show up in court, and therefore owes the settlement, am I responsible for any part of it if he kept from me the entire time that any of this was going on?

If you were not sued this has nothing at all to do with you. Spouse's are not liable for the debt of their spouses even if they are legally married to their spouse.
