I have a signed contract on my home, with an unauthorized

Customer Question

I have a signed contract on my home, with an unauthorized suite in the basement, it is marked on the property disclosure document, on my signed accepted offer it states seller to replace roof (black) and replace rotted fascia boards. I just received a call to see how we are doing on legalizing the basement suite, I said excuse me, I never agreed to make the suite legal, nowhere on the contract does it say to do so or that I will have it done,, where do I stand

You don't have to do a thing to the basement as that is not what you agreed to.

You must have been shocked to hear this because it simply makes no sense at all. I cannot imagine what made them think you were doing something to the basement.
