We signed a one year lease agreement rental apartment

Customer Question

We signed a one year lease agreement for a rental apartment in Montreal, Quebec on June 27th, 2015 and then prior to the end of the meeting we decided not to proceed and verbally informed the property manager at that time. We did not receive a copy of the lease to this date, July 9th, 2015. We were verbally informed at the beginning of the meeting that we have 10 days "cool down" period or time to change our mind. No deposit funds and no monthly payment was given to the property manager. Landlord has now sent us a letter of demand for payment. We are not interested in proceeding with this and asking what can we do here. Thank you. ***** (###) ###-####

Who told you that you had a 10 day cooling down period? Are you saying the property manager told you this? Did you read the lease and did you see if it said you had a 10 day cooling off period? Are you saying you signed the lease and then right then said you changed your mind? Was there something that was said that made you change your mind?
