My mother passed away March 10, 2015

Customer Question

My mother passed away March 10, 2015 and we know she had a will but we have not found it. There is no money or assets to disperse. We have 2 cheques to deposit made out to the Estate. One for rent reimbursement and CPP Death Benefit. the bank says we need a will naming Executor to open an Estate account. My sister paid the funeral costs so we just need to reimburse her and the cheque amounts will not even cover the costs. What do we do?
Thank you

I am sorry for your loss. Did you go to the bank where your mother always banked? What province is this please?
