My mother hired a contractor to renovate her house and to build

Customer Question

My mother hired a contractor to renovate her house and to build an addition onto it. Upon moving in, she discovered many things unfinished or just not done well. Over the past few years, more and more things are coming up that shouldn't be happening. She wanted to sue the company but it has gone bankrupt. Is there any way she can get her house fixed or get money from the contractor?

Was her contract with the corporation or with the contractor? And was a warranty included? Why did she not pursue this when she moved in and found things were not finished or not done well?
