What is the definition of blackmail in Canada, Ontario specifically?

This is defined in the Criminal Code, at section 346, which deals with the offence of extortion (which is the formal legal name for blackmail), and states:

346. (1) Every one commits extortion who, without reasonable justification or excuse and with intent to obtain anything, by threats, accusations, menaces or violence induces or attempts to induce any person, whether or not he is the person threatened, accused or menaced or to whom violence is shown, to do anything or cause anything to be done.

Courts have made it clear that a threat of blackmail can include almost any threat, not just those of violence.
