Hello:
The international copyright notice simply includes the © symbol, followed by the year and the name of the copyright owner. Using such a copyright notice is optional in Canada, and you can still claim copyright on a photograph or seek action for violation of copyright interests without such a notice in Canada. But using the symbol, year and name of owner is the best way to have copyright protection when photographs are available to be copied outside Canada.
This just gives notice that you are claiming copyright in the photograph. It does not actually create such rights, so you would still have to prove ownership in the copyright for any particular photo to be able to take action if someone copies it without your permission.
