I was going down the road went into high idle pulled off put

I was going down the road went into high idle pulled off put car in neutral idling high rpms, Put on brake put in park Shut engine off went to restart no power whats so ever except door locks worked no dash lights interier lights. What could have blown
JA: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate?
Customer: no power
JA: What is the model/year of your Cadillac?
Customer: iing on side of road

Customer: 1996
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: going to try checked fuses all ok. Tried shifting several times nothing comes on when key is turned
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

O.k.,it looks like your battery has 3 connections in one cable that connects to the positive post at the battery.Check and see first if there is any corrosion or damage or looseness to this cable connection.I have seen this before with corrosion or looseness cause this fault.If this is or was checked and found to be o.k. let me know so we can continue.
