I have a 2008 Escalade, the instrument panel and driver

I have a 2008 Escalade, the instrument panel and driver information center have gone dark... the speedometer, odometer, gas gauge indicators don't work. The lights blink on the indicator needles blink, but nothing else. In doing some research, it looks like my recent dead battery may have caused the BCM to fault. How do I reprogram or reset it?
JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: The battery has been replaced... that's when the dash failed.
JA: Are you fixing your Escalade yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, I've looked at all the fuses and tested for fault codes.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I don't think so.

  • To reset the BCM you disconnect both battery cables and hold them together for one minute. To program it a scan tool is needed. I doubt either of these will help though. Let me know those results.
