Headlights staying on. doesn't seem to be regular low beams

Customer Question

headlights staying on. doesn't seem to be regular low beams or high beams, but another lesser light at the top of assembly. 2003 escalade
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the bulbs?
Customer: no haven't checked anything. wife called and mentioned. now battery has drained (won't start) but enough energy that lights look like a disco ball now, flickering on/off
JA: Are you fixing your Escalade yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i'm at work and just got info from wife at home, so nothing has been tried so far
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

It sounds like your daytime running light relay has failed causing lights to stay on. There is a DRL relay in fuse box under the hood. Remove relay to see if lights shut off, if so replace. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions. Thanks
