Im wanting to replace the 3.6 in my 2006 cts with a 3.6 out

Customer Question

Im wanting to replace the 3.6 in my 2006 cts with a 3.6 out of an 2005 cts. Are they the same.
JA: Are you fixing your CTS yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It ran out of oil. Stacked a rod bearing ruined crank major galling on cyclinder walls lots of metal inbthe pan. I am doing the swap myself if the 05 engine will be a plug and play replacement.
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: Whenever it was it was the last one for that engine
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nope thank u
