I have a 1998 Cadillac Catera. Bose Stereo System. The Tape

Customer Question

I have a 1998 Cadillac Catera. Bose Stereo System. The Tape and CD both work fine, there is no am or fm reception. ????
JA: What confuses you?
Customer: Why are the cd and tape working and not the radio?
JA: Have you checked the fuse?
Customer: Yes and the antenna module.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Ive tried all antenna avenues. No breaks, kinks, etc... I wonder about a signal processor I keep hearing about but I'm confused about how the system actually works.

Typically this is the Antenna Amplifier located under the rear Deck & is somewhat a pain to get to
There was also a Tech Bulletin that explains the Antenna Cable caused interference with AM reception

Thank you!! I've already changed the Antenna Amplifier with no results. And yes it was a pain to get to. I keep seeing something about a Radio Receiver Module. GM Part 16209109. Could this be the problem? Or, did I get a bad Antenna Module and how can I test it?

Does your Cadillac have OnStar (regardless if working), Navigation, CD Changer, or Factory Cell Phone?

Expert:  Don 'Mo Lurch' replied 9 months ago.

I also need confirmation of Voltage at the Antenna Amplifier

Not that I'm aware of as far as the onstar goes. No CD changer, nav or cell.

I'm so sorry. I had to take my son to the ER for stitches in his foot. No. I will do it in the am. Thank you so much. I have been fighting this for 3 months and I'm ready to pull my hair out.
