Hello, blowing from the defrost is the default when the mode door actuator fails. Mose and temperature are controlled electronically with actuators instead of vacuum like on older vehicles.

Labor time to replace the mode actuator is 5.2 hours and the part costs around 100.00

If this is something you wish to do yourself I can provide the info on it.

Expert:  K. Wiggins replied 8 months ago.

No vacuum all electronic. You'll need to pull the dash to replace the actuator. I'll post info below.

Thank u but u have colored pictures?part number too?
Expert:  K. Wiggins replied 8 months ago.

Unfortunately none of the repair systems offer color pictures for this.

There are two part numbers for this depending on the VIN I'll post them below.

ACDELCO(###) ###-####- Mode Door (Controls which vents the air comes out of); A/C FRT AUTO/AUX CONT(CJ2); 1st Design; USE ON VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO VIN 1G6DP567150155651

ACDELCO(###) ###-####- Mode Door (Controls which vents the air comes out of); A/C FRT AUTO/AUX CONT(CJ2); 2nd Design; USE ON VEHICLES BUILT WITH VIN 1G6DP567150155651 AND LATER

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
i could'nt locate the nuts for brake braket as stated in #5 instruction for automatic tranny
Expert:  K. Wiggins replied 8 months ago.

You'll just need that one which dependso n the VIN as to the part number.

The actuator is on the drivers side of the airbox and is the top one, the bottom on that side is for the temperature. I'll post a picture below, it's #11

DO I NEED TO REMOVE THE STEERING WHEEL?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
HOW DO U REMOVE THE CLUSTER? SPEEDOMETER?
Expert:  K. Wiggins replied 8 months ago.

You can just drop the whee and column using those two botls on the sides.

Once you remove the trim piece around the speedo there should be 4 mm bolts holding it in
