The timing chains will loosen up causing an engine noise. This is a common failure for the 3.6L engine. If the problem gets bad enough you will get a check engine light. The guides and tensioners need to be closely inspected for wear or damage. The timing procedure when replacing the timing chains is complex. Make sure your mechanic is well qualified for this repair.
