Cadillac Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Ok, there are 3 different causes - socket drawing too much amperage and causes it to overheat and melt, or where the wires come into back of socket loose or chafed and touched each other and melted the socket, or incorrect bulb used that requires more amperage than the correct one and resulted in overheating and melting the socket.
Make sure the bulb is the correct one and replace if needed. Replace the socket and wiring pigtail. These steps resolve all 3 causes of this happening and prevents it from happening again
