I have a 1997 Eldorado 4.6L. Coolant mixed with the transmission

Customer Question

I have a 1997 Eldorado 4.6L. Coolant mixed with the transmission fluid because of a defective oil cooler in the radiator. The tranny is getting replaced however I am told there is engine damage also. Can this issue effect the engine also?

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I'm here to help get your problem solved. The engine should be fine unless coolant ran completely low and engine overheated, otherwise I wouldn't worry about replacing engine. It is possible transmission is fine too, I'd try to flush it out before replacing. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.
