Bought a used gm nav radio (1523099) to replace satellite radio

Customer Question

bought a used gm nav radio (1523099) to replace satellite radio with buttons in my 2006 gmc Yukon denali.why are dealers telling me they don't do aftermarket installs when all I want is unlocked to use. I can make it work if I turn key to accessory and then plug in power to radio.as soon as key turned off, have to repeat again.i know only dealer can do this,so why am I getting run-around?

Ok, I don't understand why they would be complaining about this when all they need to do is program it. What have you been requesting they do?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it says on internet all I need to do is ask them to unlock theftlock with a techtwo scan tool to clear previous vin so it will work in my vehicle.i understand paying them for it. can you tell me who to go to.i have tried several gm dealers in my area already.

I have the radio in dash and power to it.what is their problem?do I know more than they do? lol

have to leave for now.can you email me your reply?

You are replying so fast that you kicked out my replies to you.
Its not really a theft unlock, its programming, but the theft unlock is done at the same time as they program the VIN of your vehicle into it. By the sounds of it, yes you do know more than they do. This takes truthfully about 5 mins to actually do but I cannot understand why they won't.
You may want to ask around about aftermarket shops that can program GM vehicles as well.

sorry about that. will have to ask around.

That's about all we can do for this.
Is there more that I can get you?
