I am trying to replace the wiper switch on my 2003 CTS Cadillac. How do I remove the cover from the steering column to get to the switch.

Hello I will help you with your question,

As a security measure the steering wheel needs to be removed to remove the trim covers.

I wrapped the procedure up in a .pdf file you can find below

Look this over and let me know how I can help you

Thank you

I need a more detail step by step instructions. Also what is the SIR?

The instruction are step by step. Did you scroll all the way to the bottom? YOu start with that procedure by disabling the SIR (Supplemental Inflation Restraint) system, remove the drivers airbag using the release tool, remove the steering wheel using a steering wheel puller then you can remove the column covers to get to the switch.

Let me know if that is clear

Thank you
