I have a cadillac cts 3.2. I have taken all the procedures to replace my coolant thermostat. Now I am trying to get it out. Is this something that just needs to be messed around with, pryed, or what? I am having real trouble removing it and the pipe that is attached to the housing will not detach from housing. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry maybe I need to clarify. I am wanting to remove the housing and pipe attached to it. I can not get it to come away from the block. I can move it side to side but can't get it to come up. I have pictures how can I get them to you. I am not trying to remove the thermostat from the housing just trying to get the whole housing out with thermostat in it.
Yes, I see now. You will want to take the housing off first of course..
I have the instructions in a PDF format HERE
Thanks
Ok. Thats my problem. I can not remove the housing from the outlet pipe. Is it supposed to twist? Do I need something to pry it away? I can't get those two things seperate. Once those are seperated I will be able to finish!
That should just pull out, after the bolt is taken off......
I already took of that bolt and the bolts on the housing. You are now at my question. It will not just "come out" as you state. That is my problem. There is a little wiggle play but it is almost like the pipe is stuck inside the housing. What can I do to get it out? I have been working on this part for two days. All I need them to do is seperate. Since it is not just "coming out" what do you recommend to get them apart.
That is all the information that I have on it, but wait there may be another expert who has more. I will opt out and open it back up. Please don’t reply to this post as that will lock the question back to me, someone should be along shortly, I’m sure, thanks and sorry I wasn’t able to help with it.
