Hi I just recently bought a 01 sts with a wynn plus service contract. I was wondering how easy or difficult it would be to settle a claim if anyone has any experience with this company?

Hello, My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will gladly assist you with your vehicle concern.I have dealt with Wynn on many occasions. I like them, for the biggest reason, they will pay be by credit card over the phone when the job is completed. No waiting on a check, and no charging the client full price and them waiting on a check. Now, there are hoops to jump through, as in the following...1. Pre-authorization is needed for all repairs. A biggie! no Pre-auth... no covered repair... no excuses.2. A shop will ask for an O.K. for Diagnostic time, just in case the claim is not covered; furthermore, be prepared for only some of the diagnostic charge being covered. 3. Once a claim is authorized, you will be responsible for any deductible and uncovered repairs. For example: If the labor rate of a shop is competitive, lets say $65.00 an hour, depending on your area, the company may only authorize $55.00. At this point, it is up to you to make up the difference at the final billing with your deductible. {I have run into this on several occasions with multiple "aftermarket" warranty Services}3. This company WILL not cover maintenance related items, unless it is a fluid. if a water pump is needed, and covered, and you need a belt, you buy. A lot of it is how the shop "Words" the claim. A worn part is not covered. A failed or broken part is. Electrical is a tough cover also. Nothing shorted or bare. Failed only, and the story had better be good.As far as who does them. Many Independents and dealers will do them. Be sure to ask first if they have knowledge in working with the company. As for the contract... It is one of the better ones. So, in a recap,,,,,,You will be responsible for check out time if the repair IS NOT covered. The repairing shop will need a pre-auth before the actual repair is preformed, and then you will be contacted by the shop with what you will be responsible for, as far as cost.At this point, you have the option to bail if your share is more than you expected; however, then what? Something is better than nothing... Right? Finally, check to see if the shop will go through the motions to get the shops amount paid over the phone w/ a credit card number from Wynn's. Makes your initial cost Much less.If you have any further questions on this matter, please ask.
Hi scott. Your info was very helpfull. But I am wondering if I would be better to go to a big dealership or say a smaller shop wtih have had work done on some of my other cars?
If you are comfortable with a shop, and a tech, like you are with your doctor... don't change. ask the shop if they will do it for you. It is too easy for the shop to make money on this if the job is right, and they ask/and answer the questions correctly.Don't bail on your "shop" unless they shut you down. I can almost promise, they will not.
