We own a 96 cadillac Concourse, The service ride control comes on when ever my wife has taken it in and had the tires rotated or replaced. We had a freind who used to be able to reset it for us and he no longer is availib le to do so. He had told us that everytime it is put on a lift it will happen. Well guess what my wife took the car in and bingo the service ride control is back on the display. Can you tell me how to reset it??

Hello, My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will gladly assist you with your vehicle concern. Your information should show up on the Dash Cluster below the speedo in the info center. Pressing the off/Warmer button at the same time, and releasing them when the display starts to activate will gain you access to the system. Follow the steps below. ---------------------------------------------------- HOW TO "ENTER" DIAGNOSTIC MODE To enter diagnostic mode, proceed as follows: With the ignition in the "RUN" position (engine does not necessarily need to be running, but it will work either way). Push (and hold) "OFF" and "WARMER" simultaneously on the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) until all telltales lights illuminate (segment check). Release the "OFF" and "WARMER" buttons. System is now in diagnostic mode. "00" (zero-zero) should now be displayed. This is the pointer. Pressing "OUTSIDE TEMP" will allow you to display the corresponding code for the pointer. Use the "FAN SPEED" override switch (UP/DOWN) to increment or decrement the pointer number. Pressing "AUTO" or turning the ignition switch "OFF" exits diagnostic mode. Pointers 00-04 contain the stored trouble codes. "00" = Powertrain Control Module (PCM) codes "01" = "02" = Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) codes "03" = "04" = Anti-lock Brake/Traction Control System (ABS/TC) Codes HOW TO "CLEAR" TROUBLE CODES A code can be cleared by press the "OFF" button while that particular code is displayed. To get out of the diagnostic mode, depress any of the "ECON" or "DEFOG" buttons, or turn ignition switch off for 10 seconds. Trouble codes are not erased when this is done. The temperature setting will reappear in the display panel.------------------------------Keep in mind, this will only work if your A/C head looks like what is pictured below. If not, you will need a Tech II or equivalent scanner to gain access.
I did not aslk how to reset or clear the code, I aske how to reset the ride control because the car is riding real bad at this point.
If you can tell me, how do you reset the ride control once the car has been up on a lift.
You see our ex son inlaw used to help us with this he worked on cadillacs. But as I said ex son inlaw.
Now that this has happened we just want to know what it is he used to do to reset the the ride control so the vehicle will ride correctly.
Maybe we are mistaken as to what is going on but this has happened before like I said and he would somehow reset it and the ride was more stable after he was done.
If you can give us the direction to correct I would be greatful.
I apologize. The way the question read, it appeared to be a code reset, which, at times, a clean memory will facilitate operation. If he sat in the car, he did the above. If he got under the car, he may have reattached the sensor arm, which sometimes pops off when raised. To guess what the issue is without diagnostics, is just a guess. Cracked line, cracked o-ring, moisture in the filter orifice at the pump, failed relay or module.I will opt out, and maybe there is a tech that can assist you with a "Quick" Fix.
