Customer Question

I have a 1977 Eldorado with an am-fm/cb radio combo. The radio is getting power but no sound..not even static. The power antenna also is not working. could the 2 problems be related. any ideas?

My answer is below.

Many times the only fix will be by Dealer or Shop, so please do not hold that against me.

 

I believe it is analog

 

If it is Analog (not digital) there is only "one" Power wire.
If there is no sound, then test outputs at the back of the Radio with a Test Speaker
Many times the CB Box will cause the no sound, because it mutes the Radio

The Antenna has 2 power wires
12 Volts + from the Radio when On
12 Volts + Constant ORANGE wire (should be CIG Fuse)
Check voltage at the Power Antenna with the Key On
